My Everyday Makeup

Jan 23, 2021

My everyday makeup routine is pretty basic. Because of the place I work at, I don't like to have a drastic appearance. And since I am 40 I don't like to have a bold flashy look. I am not knocking those that do bold techniques (to each their own they say). Call me simple if you will.

I am going to show you what I like to use and which brands I like. I have combo skin and weird break outs. So this is what works for me.

For my whole face I don't like the cakey feeling. Less is more. For under my eyes and any flaws, I use Glossier stretch concealer in G10. I use both my (clean) finger and my Clinique concealer brush. Then I finish off with bareMinerals BarePro in Natural 11 using my kabuki brush from Ulta Beauty.

Next up is my contour, highlighter and blush. I am a huge fan of Thrive Causemetics. Their products are quite pricey yes, but if you knew their whole mission on their products then price wouldn't even be a thought. They help women that are survivors of domestic violence, cancer and being homeless. So any purchase you make, they give back to women in need. I love that!

For the contour I use the Blur & Sculpt Bronzing Powder in the shade Rhea with their bronzing brush. Next I highlight using the 3D Strobing Highlighter in the shade Dawn using my Too Faced unicorn highlighter brush. Which I believe is now discontinued. Finally I finish off using the Multi Dimensional Strobing Blush in the shade Rosie using my Clinique blush brush. I will eventually collect all Thrive brushes.... but like I said... pricey!

For my eyes I keep it rather simple as I said above. I start off by using a eyeshadow base primer using both my finger and concealer brush. I have hooded eyes so this is a very important step or else by the middle of the day all the colors I use blend in together and it's just a hot mess. The base I use is by NYX Eye Puddy in the shade Skin Tone. Next I use my Urban Decay Naked Basics. I start off by using the shade W.O.S or Foxy all of my lid, then Naked 2 in my crease (and a little above the crease because of my hooded eyes). For the outer V I use the shade Faint and in the corner of my eye and my eyebrow bone I use the shade Venus. I sometimes don't always use the black shade Crave. When I do I put it down in my lash line and go no further than my iris/pupil in my eye. I like to use as many brushes I can to blend it all in. I don't like harsh lines. It has to be as natural as I can make it.

For my eyebrows I like to use multiple products for the perfect look. I start off by outlining the top and bottom of my brows with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in the shade medium brown with both Anastasia eyebrow brushes in 12 and 14. I blend upward and downward. Then I use the Thrive Infinity Waterproof Eyebrow Liner in the shade Audrey to fill in some sparse hairs and fix my tail. After that I finish with It Cosmetics Brow Contour Pro in the shade Brown-Light for an ombré affect. The cool feature of the brow contour pro is the 2 shades dark/light and the 2 shades of lighter colors to fix any mishaps and highlight underneath the tail. Before I highlight however, I clean my brows up with the Glossier stretch concealer. I seriously love that stuff. Afterwards I use NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel to set my brows in place.

I like to finish my eyes using my all time favorite Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara from Thrive in the shade Brynn which is a rich black. I have very sensitive eyes and this is the only mascara that doesn't smudge or burn my eyes. At least for me anyways. I finish off by putting theInfinity Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade Ella (brown matte) in my water line on my top lid. Sometimes I will do a slight wing out and drag the eyeliner right up to my pupil with a small line smudging the outer wing using the little nifty smudger at the other end.

For the pièce de résistance of my look I finish off my lips using the NYX lip primer, MAC lip liner pencil in shade Soar and then Mac lipstick cream in shade Faux. See the complete look below:
