Lately I have seen all over social media all things k-beauty. Korean Beauty. I mean it is taking over the skincare community by storm! The ingredients are simple, gentle yet very affective.

My suggestion is to download the app Picky first. If you dabble into skincare like I do, this is the first thing you should do. I have dry and sensitive skin so I have to be very careful with what I put on my face or I could destroy my skin barrier. Which I did and I am slowly bringing it back. But this app will help guide you in the right direction on what to use and what not to use.

One of the many things I am obsessing over is masks. I came across the brand I'm From over at Wishtrend. Since becoming a Wishtrend affiliate recently, I got the opportunity to get these as a gift for my honest review.

Mugwort Mask - This was by far the best mask I have ever used. It is the most popular mask floating around out there. Along with their essence toner and cream (which I requested in my next campaign). Since my face has been a little irritated, the mugwort really had a calming feeling. It also smells like tea. It went on smoothly and had a cooling affect. When the cool air would touch my face, it made the whole experience very relaxing.
This is a wash-off mask containing ground mugwort from Ganghwa Island. The highly concentrated gel formula preserves the active ingredients of plant extracts and delivers their benefits directly to the skin. Enjoy cooling and fast soothing.
Rice Mask - I really wanted to like this mask. This mask went on more like a cream with ground up rice mixed in. I have very sensitive skin. So this was way too harsh for me. Also, the fragrance in it was way too strong for my liking. It did leave my skin soft at first and it brightened my face but the rice really agitated my sensitive skin. This bums me out because I really like this mask and the brand and it did feel good going on. It just didn't feel good coming off. So, I will just use it on spots that need a little boost in brightening and scrubbing away dead skin.
This scrub is fortified with Rice Bran and Rice Powder to remove dead skin cells and impurities and restore the skin's natural glow and translucence. Vitamin B1, B2 and rice water containing various minerals tighten loose skin and enlarged pores.

My skin has been slowly healing from damaging my barrier from over exfoliating, harsh scrubbing and mixing serums. But it still needs a little TLC. So you could only imagine my excitement when I won the Abib calming kit giveaway at Picky in an exchange for my honest review.

My Personal Thoughts:
Last night I used the mild acidic pH sheet mask. I put it in the fridge for a couple of hours and applied it right after double cleansing. My face felt so refreshed. I almost fell asleep it was that calming. My face soaked the essence right up. Afterwards, I used 2 pumps of calming serum and oh my lawd. No more tightness. No more redness. My face didn't feel like it was burning. I woke up this morning with still no redness or irritation. Abib was made for me. I rate this 10/10.

In a nutshell, I will purchase the mugwort mask and the calming serum. The rice mask and sheet masks I will not. I like sheet masks don't get me wrong, but it is wasteful in my opinion. I like to put toner/essence in the palm of my hand and rub my hands together a little and pat it on my face and rub in. As much as the sheet masks are soothing, they're... meh.

  2. The Mugwort calming mask sounds lovely. I'm with you on sheet masks - while they feel nice they are wasteful and probably bad for the environment in most cases. Thanks for linking up!
